Heute hat das Exekutivkomitee des Internationalen Olympischen Komitees (IOC) der IOC-Vollversammlung am 6. Oktober 2009 in Kopenhagen unter anderem (7er-)Rugby als Wettkampfsport künftiger Olympischer Sommerspiele vorgeschlagen. “Rugby scored high on all the criteria, it has global appeal, a geographically diverse line-up of top iconic athletes and an ethic that stresses fair play.” Quelle

President Claus-Peter Bach has represented the German Rugby Association (DRV – Deutscher Rugby Verband) at the Annual General Meeting of the European Rugby Federation (FIRA-AER).
